1927 Chevy 2 Door Sedan
This is a car like the one that my Grandfather Noah Bupp bought new. In 1929 my Dad, Lehman W. Crist bought the car from Grandpa. Later that year my Dad went in the dairy business with his brother-in-law, M. Ebert (Bud) Rutter who founded Rutter’s Dairy in 1921.
My Dad needed a vehicle to deliver milk so he took the back seat out of the 1927 Chevy and delivered milk to his customers in the city of York. This was the first motorized delivery of milk for Rutter Bros. Dairy because up to that point Rutters delivered their milk by horse and wagon.
