1940 Ford Delux Tudor Sedan
This is another car like my Dad owned from about 1943 to 1947. My brother drove it most of the time. Dad’s car was all black. I can remember a Gas Ration Sticker on the window of the car because of World War II rationing of gas. Dad’s car was very reliable car as far as I can remember. I always liked the look of this year and model of the Ford. 1940 was the year that Ford moved the gearshift from the floor to the steering column.
This particular car has been well maintained over the year and has always remained and OEM car. So it was never chopped or cut for any modifications. There has been replacements of the parts from time to time and the interior upholstery has been replaced with OEM material.
We have gone over the car in preparation of using it for general driving and use on AACA Tours. The engine was running OK but to be prepared for long trips, we pulled the engine for an overhaul. The generator, starter, carburetor, brakes, radiator etc. have all been rebuilt. And NO, I didn’t put any lowering blocks or dual exhausts on it. Those items were not OEM.
